Auditions

Working for a More Musical Tomorrow

Requirements: Students of any affiliated teacher are eligible to enter.  Teachers should consult the TMTA Auditions Syllabus for information regarding applications, repertoire requirements, and theory tests.  The TMTA Auditions Syllabus and Theory Test are available from Carol Boeing: pcboeing@bellsouth.com

Syllabus: $3.00 shipping & handling. 

Musicianship Manual (Theory Tests): $12.50 + 5.00 S & H.

Repertoire: Consult the Syllabus.  Teachers should be aware of time limits listed in the syllabus.  Students may be asked to stop if their program exceeds the allowed time.

Theory Test: Teachers should administer the tests to their own students and record the scores on the local and state application form.

Applications: The teacher should submit one application for each student/entry. The same application will be used for both the local and state audition.

Judges Rating Sheet: Teachers should complete the repertoire information and submit one sheet for each student.

Teacher’s Audition Work Request Form: All teachers who enter students in local auditions are required to give a specific amount of time to the audition process.  The amount of time required will be proportional to the number of students entered.  Questions may be directed to the Auditions Chairperson, Emily Ross.

Fee: Students, $15.00 each.

Please make sure you have completed all forms before submitting the following to Audition Chairperson.  Incomplete forms may result in disqualification.

1. Teacher’s Work Request Form

2. One completed application for each student

3. One rating sheet for each student

4. $15.00 fee for each student

Teachers should write one check made out to GMMTA for the total fees of all their students.

 ***No substitutions in programs of performance times are allowed after the application has been received.  There will be NO exceptions
