The Greater Memphis Music Teachers Association is a Professional Organization dedicated to the support of professional music teachers. It is an affiliate of the Tennessee Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association.

"A place for students to practice performing and exchange feedback. The way this works: a student performs one piece, preferably from memory, and then the other performers will offer some feedback. Each performer will receive one compliment, and one constructive feedback. Any repertoire is allowed, including method books"

Welcome GMMTA New President Daryl Rojas!
We are happy to welcome Daryl Rojas as the 2023-2023 GMMTA President. Daryl has been in the Graduate program at the U of Memphis and is now a professional member of GMMTA and MTNA. Daryl, along with other U of M students, has presented several programs for our members.

Dr. Sharon Momany* Named Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Sharon Momany* who has been named GMMTA Teacher of the Year for 2023! Sharon's career has spanned many years over which she has been an educator, teaching at various colleges in addition to ten years as piano teacher for CAPA piano at Colonial Middle School. Her long career has included serving as an adjudicator in five states in addition to being a sought after accompanist for dance and opera. She was a founding member of the Germantown Symphony and a long time member of GMMTA.

Diane Evans Named Honorary Member
On May 28th, President André Duval, and Honorary Member Chair Connie Swett visited longtime member Diane Evans at her residence at HarborChase in Memphis to present her with a certificate of Honorary Membership. We join in extending our Congratulations to Diane!
